EDUCATION
Lamoille County’s commitment to education is evident in the renovation and reconstruction projects recently undertaken at many schools in the region.
Bishop John A. Marshall School is a private, Catholic school serving students in grades preK-8. The local public schools offer a preschool-high school education.
People’s Academy, Stowe High School, and Lamoille Union Middle and High School, the region’s secondary schools, vary in size, but each offers a quality education. They share access to the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center, which offers a wide variety of technical education opportunities, many of which include internships with local businesses and industries. Mount Mansfield Winter Academy (co-educational) located in Stowe, offers specific programs to high-school-aged student-athletes.
Specialized educational services are offered by Laraway Youth and Family Services and East Meadow School.
Post-secondary education opportunities in the county include Vermont State University – Johnson and Morrisville campus of Community College of Vermont and near by Sterling College .
Other opportunities are available in adjacent Chittenden County: the home of the University of Vermont, St. Michael’s College, Champlain College, and the Vermont Technical College campus in Williston.

Copley Hospital provides high-quality, personalized, state-of-the-art care for greater Lamoille County. A not-for-profit community hospital, Copley is also one of the area’s largest employers. It has been named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital for three years in a row and has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Hospitals in New England based on patient satisfaction.
Copley offers 24-hour emergency services, a family-friendly Birthing Center, and excellent inpatient and outpatient care with more than 60 specialists, including Cardiology, General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation Services and Urology.
Lamoille Health Partners is a Federally Qualified Health Center, with Lamoille Health Family Medicine – Morrisville and Stowe, Lamoille Health Behavioral Health & Wellness, Lamoille Health Family Dentistry, Lamoille Health Pediatrics, & Community Health Pharmacy.
